about

I had a lot of problems with this particular track. Compositionwise I originally wanted to do a very old-school, Vangelis-like pad synth thing between the rhythmic parts of the track, but I never got it to sound very good or interesting, and the song sounded kind of thin, because it lacked bass. Replacing the pads with a bass line, however, took care of both my issues.

The biggest problem, however, was with the "epicness" of the track - sometimes I felt it was too forced and I tried too hard, sometimes I thought it was amazing, and I just couldn't make up my mind about whether I liked the entire thing or not. However, at some point I just decided I'd finish it and release it whether I'd like the end result or not.

For the record: Now, at the time of release, I love it once again.
