about

Eräänä ikitalven yönä heräsin yksin jäätyneiden aaltojen keskeltä is an album about the long, long year that has passed since I released my last EP, Aurinkoon. It is, effectively, an echo of what I as a person was for that year - all the feelings and moods I experienced in a year full of fear, self-doubt and self-loathing, and a year of full personal triumphs, friendship, self-discovery and of forcing myself to go where I never thought I could go mentally, emotionally and musically. The album was heavily inspired by the endlessly long, dark and cold winter we had here in Finland last year.

Now, with the release of this album I can take what I've learned during this year, leave the person I was during it behind me... and start again.

As with Autio and Aurinkoon, the artwork was designed by Gregory E. Pilling at chromador.com, who once again took my initial concept of geometric, glitchy snowflakes and ran with it to produce something absolutely mindblowing! Dude seems to be able to read my mind. The full album download comes with a PDF booklet full of the beautiful designs Greg came up with.
